About this time last year, Atticus was found tied to our veterinarian’s fence when staff arrived for the day. Upon a thorough examination, tumors were discovered. He underwent surgery to remove them and a biopsy went to KSU. The results were not what we had hoped for. He was diagnosed with Perianal Gland Carcinoma. The experts at KSU gave him 3-6 months. We planned on Atticus being our hospice dog. Well, he is doing very well and we believe he is ready for his own family and forever home. How long does Atticus have left? No one knows. But he beat the first prediction by a long shot. He just wants to be with his person, have a nice sized, fenced yard to explore in and go for car rides. He loves to eat, so he could use a couple short walks a day. He does have some allergies that cause him to chew on his feet, so prescription medication is required. He’s fine with other dogs, cats, kids and all people. If you would like to open up your home and your heart to love him for what ever time he has left, please complete an adoption application. Topeka/Shawnee County adopter is required.
